Call for Applications: Proposal Writing Grants for International Postdocs

University Alliance Ruhr invites applications for its new Proposal Writing Grants, designed to support international postdoctoral researchers in developing joint research projects with UA Ruhr partners.

The program offers selected fellows the opportunity to spend three months at one of the three UA Ruhr universities (Ruhr University Bochum, TU Dortmund University, or the University of Duisburg-Essen). During their stay, participants will collaborate closely with their host to prepare a third-party funding application for a longer-term research project, while also building personal connections within the UA Ruhr research network.

Fellows receive a monthly scholarship of €1,500 for the duration of the program. In addition to financial support, the initiative emphasizes direct collaboration with experienced researchers (professors, junior professors, or junior research group leaders) and the development of sustainable academic partnerships.

The program is open to international postdoctoral researchers from all disciplines who are currently based outside Germany, have completed their PhD within the last three years, and have secured a committed host at one of the UA Ruhr universities.

Funding period: Three-month stay to be completed within 2026
