Graduate Programs

There are some 180 master‘s degree programs, many of them offered in English, in engineering and science, as well as in the social sciences and humanities. Working closely with our internationally renowned faculty, students earn a degree that is highly respected by employers around the world. The UA Ruhr universities do not charge tuition fees. Students pay a low semester fee that includes a semester pass for public transportation throughout the entire state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Summer Schools and Short Term Exchange Programs

The University of Duisburg-Essen offers various summer school programs. These courses are a combination of German Language Studies and a Cultural Immersion Program. The Institute of Economics offers the Ruhr Graduate Summer Schools in Economics. Please click here form further information. The Institute of Sociology (IfS) offers a Global and Transnational Sociology Summer School from June 12 to July 7, 2023. Apply by March 31, 2023. Please click here for further information. TU Dortmund University offers an International Summer Program (ISP). Within the International Summer Program you can choose between three tracks: Engineering, German and European Studies and Entrepreneurship.

Ruhr University Bochum offers the following summer school programs:

• BiSS International Summer School for undergraduate and graduate students in economics and related fields
• Summer School Solvation Science International Summer school for Master and PhD student
