At the Global Nexus: International Education’s Role in Canada’s Global Leadership
For six decades, international education has connected people, ideas, and opportunity across borders, shaping generations of globally engaged leaders. CBIE has played a defining role in advancing this work by bringing the sector together, informing policy and practice, and positioning international education as a strategic pillar of Canada’s global engagement.
As CBIE marks 60 years of impact, the sector is navigating a period of profound global change. Shifting approaches to cooperation, mobility, talent, and international partnerships are reshaping the role of international education—and its importance to Canada’s prosperity, resilience, and global leadership.
Taking place in Ottawa, on the traditional unceded territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin People, CBIE’s anniversary conference will reflect on this legacy while exploring the future of international education and its role in a changing world.
Executive Director Priya Nayar will participate in the conference as a speaker, contributing to discussions on how education, mobility, and global engagement can strengthen partnerships, deepen collaboration, and prepare globally minded talent for the future.
