Drawing on plants native to Ohio and photographed in the Garden(s) of Refuge at the University of Cincinnati and TU Dortmund University, Razaei’s delicate images printed on silk reflect on how life continues after movement, and how belonging can be shaped through care, memory, and the conditions that make survival possible. Through the metaphor of plants adapting to new environments, Rooted in Between invites us to consider the connections between climate, migration, and belonging, and what it means not simply to settle, but to learn how to thrive somewhere new.
