Gateway to Germany: Research & Career Opportunities

UA Ruhr had the pleasure of joining the German Center for Research and Innovation (DWIH) San Francisco in welcoming prospective doctoral students, postdocs, and early-career researchers to Gateway to Germany, an online event that highlighted Germany’s research and innovation ecosystem. Held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, the virtual program placed a strong focus on doctoral programs, early-career support, and funding opportunities at UA Ruhr, complemented by insights from other German universities and research institutions.

The event featured presentations from universities and funding agencies, along with interactive breakout sessions that allowed participants to explore opportunities in detail. Attendees learned about scholarships and research grants from organizations such as DAAD and DFG, while UA Ruhr introduced its structured doctoral and postdoctoral programs as well as the career development support available to young researchers. Further contributions addressed research in areas such as health, sustainability, and entrepreneurship, and highlighted pathways for academic entrepreneurship and collaboration with industry.
