Climate Bridge – What Now?
Perspectives for International Collaboration on Climate Change in the Current Political Context
On September 17, 2025, at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, UA Ruhr was pleased to take part in the presentation of Climate Bridge, a new publication from Rutgers University Press, presented in cooperation with Rutgers University and Emschergenossenschaft. The event brought together leading voices from Germany and the United States to highlight the urgent need for renewed transatlantic climate cooperation.
The original Climate Bridge conference took place in October 2021 under the constraints of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, the global political context has evolved, with new administrations in both the U.S. and Germany. Yet, the climate crisis has only continued to intensify.
This event explored how these political shifts were influencing climate policy and public engagement, and what they meant for the future of international cooperation. With scientists and practitioners from both countries committed to advancing climate action, the discussion focused on how to turn shared knowledge into meaningful, coordinated solutions.
