University Alliance Ruhr, together with the North-Rhine Westphalia (NRW) university liaison offices represented in the United States - Campus OWL and University of Cologne - in cooperation with the German Embassy, American Friends of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, German Research Foundation DFG and the German Center for Research and Innovation DWIH NY, invite partners, alumni, and friends for a joint networking luncheon on Democracy and Diplomacy on the occasion of German Unity Day 2024 celebrations (Tag der Deutschen Einheit) in Washington DC at the National Press Club. 

This event will feature opening remarks by Amb. Andreas Michaelis, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the United States and a welcoming address by Minister Nathaniel Liminski, Minister for Federal, European, International Affairs and Media, State of North Rhine-Westphalia followed by an Expert Panel Discussion with speakers Ambassador Michael Polt and Dr. Emily Campbell moderated by Ona Ambrozaite.
