As climate change increasingly drives displacement across regions, Academy in Exile’s first international conference brings together researchers, practitioners, and artists to examine the intersections of environmental transformation, forced migration, and knowledge production. It asks how universities and research institutions can respond to these shifts not only analytically, but also structurally and responsibly. Building on the previous eight years of AiE, the conference continues the conversation around displacement and climate-related pressures, highlighting their impact on academic freedom, mobility, and institutional frameworks.
